Photography Critique & Challenge

This class meets via ZOOM. You will learn new techniques and explore different subjects each session. Each session will have a critique section, new “lessons”, and an assignment for the following session. You will learn via visual presentation, discussions, and photo critiques. Not Your Grandma’s Black & White

Want to recreate the look of classic black and white film images? Black and white photography thrives in the digital age. You’ll learn both in-camera and computer techniques to create beautiful and timeless B&W images. We will discuss camera settings, differences between color and black and white compositions, contrast, and tonality. The class is a combination of presentation, online discussion, and assignments related to the subject being learned. There will be discussion/critique of student’s photos. This class is three 1.5 hour sessions. The dates/times of the class are decided between the student and instructor. Sessions will take place via ZOOM.

The Art of Photographing Birds

Do you love birds and photography? Then, this is the class for you! You will learn about exposure, photography techniques and bird sighting skills. We will discuss the best equipment, in-the-field ethics, how to “find” the shot and great birding locations. Students learn through visual presentation, lecture, and assignments related to the subject being learned. There will be discussion/critique of student’s photos. The dates/times of the class are decided between the student and instructor. This class is two 1.5 hour sessions via ZOOM.

Knowing Your Camera (online)

Knowing Your Camera gives photographers the opportunity to learn the functions and settings of their camera. This class will cover camera operation, menus, fast buttons, and scene selection. Discussion will cover file types, color profiles, and media storage. Camera models included in this class are DSLRs, Mirrorless, and Compact Digital. This is an instructor lead class, with plenty of time for Q&A. Classes are scheduled to work with the student’s and instructor’s schedules. It is a total of 1.5 to 2 hours of instruction. All details will be provided upon registration. This can be a private or semi-private lesson. Cost is per person.

Digital Darkroom

The Digital Darkroom gives photographers the opportunity to correct exposure, color, contrast, and other items in their photographs. In the days of film, these functions were completed for the photographer by their print lab. Modern technology changed this process, and how we work with our images. This class will go into the different software available for processing your photos, techniques to use, what to look for, and how to sort/file/store your photographic images. It is a total of 1.5 to 2 hours of instruction. All the details will be provided upon registration. This can be a private or semi-private lesson. Cost is per person. Class is
