Introduction to Black and White Photography. We will focus on what makes a good Black and White shot and how to “see” it?
We will look at the contrast and using textures. We will discuss how the camera see the image in Black and White, including file types. The other option is converting a color image to Black and White in post-production. We will look for some good examples and set some exercises. The focus is on learning to “see” in tonal qualities, composition, and exposure.
This is a more advanced course and assumes you understand the basics of photography and controlling your camera. Please bring shorter to mid-range lenses. We will be close to our subjects.
Note: We will not be doing any post-production work. It will simply be a discussion.
